Respiratory Diseases of Poultry

Winters in the Upper Midwest can present a variety of disease challenges for your poultry flock, whether kept indoors or out, on pasture or in backyards in the city. Some have less impact on flock health, or are more easily managed, while others are potentially more deadly, so more concerning.Respiratory illness can be devastating to your flock and may result in the loss of all or most of the birds.

To help better understand and to prevent this threat to flock health, the University of Minnesota Extension Poultry Team is offering a five-part series on respiratory viruses of chickens. After participating in the workshop series, poultry owners will be better able to recognize what poultry respiratory disease is, and how best to prevent it.

The series will be held on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m. CST (5:30 PM Eastern) January 12, 2021 thru February 9, 2012. Each workshop will broadcast via Zoom. The presentations will last 20-30 minutes that will be followed by time for Q&A.
