Islamic Gardens: The Philosophy of Living in the Desert

  • Thursday, March 22, 2018, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM

Join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Allegany County’s Master Gardener Mary Lu Wells in a fascinating talk about the gardens of Islam. Why is it that the three great monotheistic religions all arose from the desert? All great prophets heard the voice of God in the desert. This is a talk about how gardens and religion are intertwined even from the beginning: the Garden of Eden and ending in paradise. Life is a journey between two gardens. Come see some stunning gardens of Rome, Early Christian and Islamic gardens that have migrated to the West.
