Tractor and Machinery Safety Certification Training

Required for youth 14 to 16 years old, working with farm machinery

The 4-H and FFA sponsored Tractor and Machinery Safety Certification Training is NYS required for all youth between 14 and 16 years of age if they are or will be working on a farm and operating tractors and power equipment.

The class will be offered to youth ages 14 and up, on June 21. 22, and 23rd from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM each day, at the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Angelica NY. Registration forms and a $15.00 fee are due in the 4-H office by Friday June 16th.

Registration forms are available from the 4-H office by calling 585-268-7644 Ext. 18 or from the following Vocational Agriculture Instructors: Pat Ploetz at Cuba-Rushford School or Than Mehlenbacher at Fillmore Central School. Or click here to print registration information.

Youth that complete the training are eligible to enter the Tractor Operators’ contest at the Allegany County Fair on Tuesday, July 18th at 9:30 AM. County winners may be considered for competition at Empire Farm Days in August.
